11 Facts about myself:
1.) I have a terrible phobia of spiders, so bad that when Dylan finds a spider in the house no matter how small he has to get rid of it. But lately we have been getting these giant black horrible spiders all over the place, I think it has something to do with the colder weather. I saw one of them the other night in my bedroom so we had to sleep in the lounge room because I was so terrified even after Dylan killed it!
2.) I never finished year 12 of high school! I had my first kidney transplant in the middle of year 11 whilst changing schools (bad idea!) anyway I went back to a new school after 2 weeks off to recover from my transplant. The first month you have to visit the hospital every day to get bloods done and check on everything. The second month you have to go every second day, the third month every third day and so till you get to once every 2 weeks for a while. Anyway I managed to finish year 11 even though I was often home sick but at the start of year 12 after finishing one term of school I felt that I was too far behind after missing so much of the previous year, so I left! A lot of people told me that I wouldn't amount to anything and end up working at drive-thru's the rest of my life, yeah guess again buddy!!
16 year old me in my pink formal dress with my best friends ha ha braces and all!
3.) When I was in year 9 at school I was told I had natural golfing ability and asked to train specially to represent my school. I did a few trainings but found it incredibly boring and stopped playing! I still wonder maybe I could have been the tiger woods of women and by that I mean be amazing at golf and then let a crazy personal life drama ruin my career!
4.) It took me over 20 times to get my Learners license. Crazy I know, it was super duper expensive to try each time too like $25. Needless to say my mother was rather glad that I finally got it. I studied for it and everything I just really didn't want to get my license, I had a weird fear of growing up and getting too much responsibility too soon.
5.) I can't remember many of my memories too well theses days. I think it has something to do with the medication and some off the side effects of getting so sick. Most of my brain is a fog, I have to really think about something to try and remember. Sometimes I don't know what are real memories and what are made up as I had such a amazing childhood. It makes me sad when I think about it all!
Rocking some serious curlers before my sugar plum fairy ballet performance circa 1992!!
6.) In another life I think that I would travel the world, living out of my bag working crappy jobs just to see everything. I often day dream about that life but I would never be able to do anything like that, I get a sick feeling in my stomach when I am in a different country purely because I don't have my transplant specialist there. I feel anchored to Adelaide purely because of my specialist!
7.) When I am older and all my children have grown up and moved out to start their own families I want to open my home up to under privelged children. I want to foster as many children as I can, to try and give them the life they deserve!
8.) I constantly have babies on the brain! I see a baby and all I want to do is cuddle and kiss it. I want a child of my own more that anything else at the moment and when the time comes I know that I will be a wonderful mother, I am just waiting on the all clear from my doctors.
9.) I have trouble keeping anything I write short and simple, as you can clearly see by this post. I love to write, it is something that I inherited from my mother, she received a bunch of awards at university for her writing. I often found at school when I was asked to write a essay and it had to be 5 thousand words, everyone would moan that the teacher was asking for too much I would always moan that 5 thousand words wasn't enough to truly get my point across. I love to write and find that it is much easier for me to explain myself fully on paper than to try and talk about it!
You can see the anxiety on my face on half of my wedding pictures!
10.) I have soul crushing anxiety! This is something that I deal with on a daily basis and I don't really like to talk about it because it makes me feel pathetic. I struggle with constant voices in my head telling me that I am not good enough, that everyone around me hates me, that I don't fit in with my family, that my outfit screams fatty! I have tried talking to my family about it in the past and they just don't seem to understand the severity of it all, I am constanty being told just get over it Gi. But there is no real way to get over anxiety! No matter how my life turns out it will be something I struggle with on a daily basis, at the moment I am just happy that it is quiet enough that it allows me to leave the house in the mornings!
11.) I love the movie Titanic! I used to have it on video tape and watch it every weekend. My parents even bought me a promotional movie poster and I hung it above my bed and use to kiss Leo before I went to bed every night ha ha ha I think I was around 8 years old!
Time to answer the 11 facts that Emorie has asked:
1.) If money wasn't an issue and you could travel freely, where is the first place you would want to visit?
I have travelled to many places that I wanted to go, America, Hong Kong, Denmark, Singapore, China, Kuala Lumpa, Paris, Vanuatu and a few others but the next place that I am hoping and praying to visit Barbados! Granted now that Dyl and I have just bought a new house we won't be able to afford it but it is somewhere I would love to go. I guess we will have to make Bali our Barbados!
2.) What is your favourite tea? If tea isn't your thing, what is your favourite thing to drink?
I love tea, when I was in hospital I used to drink a lot of black tea with sugar, when I was a hippy vegan it was green tea or daffodil and now that I am just well business Gi I am all about Chia Tea! I like to change my tea liking to go with my personality ha ha!
3.) Do you have any pets? TELL ME ALL ABOUT THEM!
I have 2 beautiful dogs, Saffron my baby girl who would be about 7 now, is a long haired Scottish collie think Lassie! But she's way smarter than Lassie was and so could save 10 Timmy's trapped down a well except she's super lazy so probably wouldn't get off her arse to help! Then there is my other little lady Ziggy but really she's not too much of a lady. I was told that she is a ridge back but turns out she's most likely ridge x great daine! Yeah she's a big girl!! She can jump over me if she wants, and seems to have so much energy that she just won't stop! Her favourite things to do are rip up any sort of bed we leave lying around for her, even if that means a sheet that I have drying on the line or taking a massive poop right as we walk past people! They are my babies and I love them too death! I can't wait for us to get this new house as it has 5 acres on it and I know they will just love all the freedom to run around.
My Babies Ziggy and Saffron.
4.) What is the best book you've read recently?
Lately I have been reading the unabridged version of Les Miserables. It is by far one of the best books I have ever read! Whilst it is taking me a long time to read it (1,400 pages doesn't go fast!) I am certainly loving every second of this book. I did find the beginning a bit hard to get into but I am glad that I stuck with it. I watched the musical the other night and was incredibly disappointed. My favourite parts of the book where not included and I felt that you didn't really understand Fatines struggle like it was explained in the book! I will be reading the Great Gatsby once I have finished this book.
5.) Have you ever been to Idaho? How much did you love it!?
I have never been to Idaho but I would like to go one day, I love the whole mountainous look to those parts of America and feel I would fall in love with those areas and never wish to leave.
6.) Favorite Film(s)?
I am a predictable love story junkie! I love Moulin Rouge, Romeo and Juliet, Titanic obviously, Lords of Dog town is another favourite. I also love love LOVE Disney movies and have a rather large collection! Beauty and the Beast, Alice in Wonderland, The Little Mermaid, Dumbo, Robin Hood, Aristocats, The Sword in the Stone, Mulan, Brave, Bambi, The rescuers down under, Snow white, Cinderella, the list goes on I can't even remember the all!
7.) If I was having you over for dinner, what would your request be?
I would pretty much eat anything as long as it doesn't contain mushrooms or the main ingredient isn't eggs! I am also not a fan of anything with unusal organs used but I am pretty much open to trying all other things! However if you really wanted to impress me than a perfectly rare steak with some sort of potato side rosti and garlic veggies would do the trick. I am a sucker for meat and 3 veg done right!!
8.) What is your favourite woodland creature?
Do fairies and water nymphs count? I was always positive that woodlands where full of them when I was a child! My friend and I wrote about 50 mini books about all the different types you could find in the woods. We even illustrated them. I wish I knew what I did with them now, they where like Peter the Rabbit books. But on a real woodland creature note I would probably pick foxes, I love foxes they are totally adorable granted they are listed as a feral pest over here and when you find a fox as large as a dog chewing on a rabbit one night in your backyard they lose their charm a bit but I imagine woodland foxes are much more mystical!
9.) What is a go-to stress reliever of yours?
My go to stress reliever is either sitting in a bath reading, sitting in the shower listening to music or cuddling up on the couch with my husband watching a good movie! They each have their draw backs, the bath goes cold, the shower wastes too much water and Dylan can annoy the hell out of me some nights but when I am stressed they really do seem to help. I also read somewhere that they had volunteers hooked up to a pain machine and increased the pain over a period of time whilst watching brain activity on a monitor. They then made a random person hold the volunteers hand as they started the short bursts of pain over again and noticed that the pain receptors in the brain remained the same. Finally they made the volunteers partner hold their hand and begin the burst of pain again. They found that when you hold your partners hand you brain actually manages to decrease the severity of the pain and increasing the comfort levels purely because of your partners presence. I think about this often when I am sick or stressed, I do find that being around Dylan really seems to calm and soothe me!

Schoolies 06 partying up cool kids style (not so much!)
10.) Where is the coolest place you have road tripped to?
I wouldn't really call it cool but when I was younger my parents dragged me and my 3 little sisters all through out the Australian Desert! I have been to Alice Springs, Ayers Rock, Copper Pedy all those desolate and not so enjoyable for teenagers spots! I also road tripped with my friends down the coast for schoolies that was defiantly the coolest road trip but wasn't really that far. I guess I kinda missed out on the whole road trippin experience.
11.) What is your favourite thing to blog about?
I love blogging about my husband, super lame I know but I just love him so darn much that any excuse to talk about him I will! We are the lames couple ever but I love that about us!
Strange as he seems, he's my soul mate!
